Shepperton Weir
LOCATION: From Whitewater The Canoe Centre (see directions page): Left out of Felix Lane. Straight over first roundabout,(second exit), at the mini roundabout directly ahead to Shepperton roundabout, first exit signposted Shepperton Village. Follow road through Village until turning for Ferry Lane appears on the left. Follow Ferry Lane to Shepperton Lock. For access to the weir, cross over lock gates to the Island.
PARKING: Park by the lock in parking bays provided.
FEATURES: A maximum of 10 gates can produce an awesome wave (unrivalled in England). Different combinations can produce grippy, retentive holes. In the summer side gates produce a small flow with nice eddylines (great for squirting).
SAFETY: In high water be carefull of the side gates. These can produce powerful hydraulics. Remember weirs are dangerous places, Be careful paddle safe and respect the locals....
